USES: Didrex
is an appetite suppressant drug to be used along side a diet plan,
as well as an exercise program and behavior therapy for the short-term
management of obesity.
BEFORE USING: Some medical conditions
or medications may interact with this medicine. Tell your pharmacist
or doctor of all prescription and non-prescription drugs that you
are taking. You must not use Didrex if you are also taking guanadrel,
guanethidine, furazolidone or monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
Inform your doctor of any other medical conditions that you have.
Also tell your doctor if your suffer with allergies, if you are pregnant
or are planning to breast-feed. Consult your doctor or pharmacist
if you have any queries or worries related to using this medicine.
DIRECTIONS: Didrex is to be taken once
a day in midmorning and must be swallowed whole (do not crush or chew
this medicine). You must not increase the stated dose or take the
medicine more often than is prescribed, as this drug can be habit
forming. If you use this drug for an extended period of time, you
must not suddenly stop taking it without first consulting your doctor.
Didrex is usually taken for between 8 and 12 weeks.
CAUTIONS: The recommended dose of this
medicine must not be exceeded. Do not take Didrex for longer than
is prescribed without first consulting your doctor. If you exceed
the recommended dose of this medicine or if you take it for longer
that is prescribed, you may suffer from serious side effects. You
should find out how you react to this medication before your drive
or take part in any other potentially dangerous activities. If you
are about to undergo any medical or dental treatments, surgery or
emergency care make sure that you inform the doctor or dentist that
you are using Didrex. You must not use Didrex if you are pregnant.
Didrex is excreted in breast milk, so you must not use it while breast-feeding.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS: The possible
side effects that you may suffer while taking Didrex include restlessness,
difficulty sleeping, nervousness or a dry mouth. Consult your doctor
immediately if any of these side effects continue or become troublesome.
POSSIBLE FOOD AND DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Interactions with other drugs that you are taking may result in unwanted
side effects. They can also prevent either medicine from working.

IF YOU TAKE TOO MUCH: If you suspect
that you have overdosed on Didrex, you must contact your local poison
control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of an overdose
can include tremors, rapid breathing, restlessness, confusion, vomiting,
diarrhea, nausea, and stomach cramps.
