Retin-A
USES: Retin-A is designed for the treatment of acne. It works by reducing the formation of pimples, while promoting the quick healing of pimples that do develop.

HOW TO USE THIS MEDICATION:
Retin-A should be supplied with an instruction leaflet. These instructions should be read carefully before using. To use, apply a thin layer of Retin-A to the affected area before going to bed. Make sure that you wash your hands immediately after use. This medication must not be used more frequently or in excessive amounts as this will not improve the results, but may increase side effects. Applying Retin-A near the eyes, mouth, or open cuts is not recommended as this medication can irritate sensitive skin. When you first use this medicine, you may notice that your acne appears to worsen. You should, however, continue therapy as it may take three to six weeks before the full benefits of this medication are seen.

SIDE EFFECTS:
You may experience some peeling of the skin, a warm feeling, mild stinging or redness immediately after applying. As your skin adjusts to the medications, these effects should subside. If any of these side effects persist or become troublesome, consult your doctor immediately. Using this medication may also increase your skins sensitivity to sunlight.

PRECAUTIONS: Using this medication may increase your sensitivity to sunlight, wind and cold. While using this treatment, you should avoid extended periods of exposure to the Sun and sun lamps. While outside, you should wear protective clothing and use an effective sunscreen. It is recommended that, during pregnancy, this medication should only be used when clearly needed. You should consult with your doctor before breast-feeding as it is not known if this drug is excreted into breast milk. When washing your face, ensure that you use a mild soap. You must not wash your face excessively. Using any cleansers, abrasive soaps, medicated creams or lotions while using Retin-A can increase irritation of the skin. If using any other acne preparations while using Retin-A, use caution. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or worries about this medicine.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:
Before using Retin-A, consult your doctor about all prescription and non- prescription medicines that you are taking.

NOTES:
It is possible to use cosmetics while under treatment with Retin-A, but you must clean the skin thoroughly before applying the medication.

MISSED DOSE:
If you miss a dose of Retin-A, use it as soon as possible. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule. Never take two doses at once to catch up.

STORAGE:
This medicine should be stored at room temperature and away from sunlight. Retin-A, as with all medicines should be kept out of the reach of children.
